Yes folks, it's true...
On the front page of our April 2010 Rescript magazine (published by the Pharmaceutical Society of Western Australia)featured the following notice:
"Notice to Employers
It is always important to ask prospective employees for evidence that their registration is current.
It is equally important to satisfy yourself that current employees have renewed their registration by 30th June each year.
These matters will be even more important this year because the national registration scheme starts on 1st July.
As there have been reports in the past months of persons claiming untruthfully to be enrolled in university pharmacy courses in order to gain employment in pharmacies it would seem wise to ask for evidence of their enrolment too."
So we aren't immune!
Like they say, with national registration and accreditation coming into play, this is an area we really need to be aware and careful of.
